Our special guest is Cathy Sigmon, co-founder of Civic Engagement Beyond Voting and of Save Our Schools Arizona. Cathy has lived in Arizona for 29 years and has been helping people make their voices heard beyond the ballot box since 2017. She’ll share how all of us can help get out the vote and keep our elections fair as the midterms approach.

Meet on the west side of 7th Ave between Lynnwood and Willetta. Bring a short “Vote Early” sign and water.

Voter registration is closing soon, and young voters need to know the dates! We’ll chalk key voting dates and information on the sidewalks at eight public spots near Phoenix Community College.
Students will see them on their way to class. 🗳️
We’ll bring the chalk, the assignments and a simple script. You just show up ready to go!

On October 17, Desert Democracy joined a nationwide celebration of people power:
At Grant Park, a neighborhood that played a key role in the Latino civil rights movement, we had a live mariachi band to set the mood, along community leaders and elected officials, including Mary Rose Wilcox, urged everyone to make their voice heard: “¡Su voto es su voz!” Then we marched together to the county elections center, and the crowd lined up to drop their early ballots in the box. 🗳️
At 7th Avenue and Osborn, we gathered for a joyful, nonpartisan celebration of voting early. We brought red, white and blue, flags and homemade signs, and gave a parade-style car sendoff to everyone heading to the post office with their ballots.

Nothing beats a conversation between neighbors! Neighbor2Neighbor lets you make a difference in your own community by talking with 10 nearby voters about what’s at stake this November: affordability for working people and accountability in government.
We’ll give you the addresses, a simple script, helpful tips and a printable handout. There’s no app and no pressure, just conversations on your own schedule that help turn out voters up and down the ballot.

Want to help make sure every voter can cast a ballot smoothly? Common Cause is training volunteers to monitor the polls this election. There are two in-person sessions left. If neither fits, the on-demand training is pre-recorded, so you can finish it on your own time. (Be sure to complete the quiz included with your registration!)
