They count on us feeling isolated and overwhelmed. We refuse. Our committees are where members find each other, build real relationships, and turn collective energy into collective power.
Find your place and take the next step!
Create connections and strengthen our community through shared events of activism and social gatherings.
Grow our movement by identifying key opportunities to add new members and welcoming them.
Curate and share resources on how to resist autocracy and fascism, making complex ideas accessible and actionable.

Arizona has tens of thousands of eligible voters who haven’t registered — and a simple postcard can be the nudge that brings them into our democratic coalition. Join us for a relaxed, community‑powered evening of writing postcards that help expand participation and strengthen our civic voice.
We provide the postcards, scripts, and addresses. If you can bring stamps, great. If not, come anyway — your presence matters. Donations toward stamps are welcome too.
Good food and drinks are available for purchase, and the vibe is always warm, purposeful, and fun.

We know this time is overwhelming for all of us —but together, we can provide each other with a little distraction and a lot of support. Our “Hump Day! Forget Trump Day!” gathering is designed to recharge spirits, connect neighbors, and keep our movement strong.
This isn’t just another meeting—it’s a chance to recommit to the values that matter most: fairness, inclusion, and the power of everyday people to shape our future.
Join us for our May Monthly Meeting featuring journalist and author Nancy Marshall, who will discuss her book Six Who Stopped the Steal. Drawing on first‑hand interviews, Marshall shares the inside story of six Maricopa County officials—five Republicans and one Democrat—who upheld the rule of law during the 2020 election amid intense pressure.
Nancy will offer key insights from her reporting, reflect on courage and accountability in public service, and discuss why this moment matters as we look ahead to the 2026 elections.
This program offers a rare behind‑the‑scenes look at a pivotal chapter in Arizona’s civic history and an engaging opportunity for thoughtful dialogue.

Our work is powered by people — and our events are where that energy comes to life. To make it easy for our community to plug in, we maintain a live Desert Democracy events dashboard on Mobilize. It’s the central place to find everything we’re hosting: meetups, trainings, volunteer opportunities, community conversations, and action‑focused gatherings across the Valley.
The dashboard updates automatically as new events are added, so you always have the most current view of what’s happening. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or you’re already part of our growing community, this is the best way to stay connected and take meaningful action with us.
Visit the Desert Democracy Mobilize dashboard to see what’s coming up next.
What is Mobilize? Mobilize is a go-to destination for people-powered movements, providing nonprofits, labor unions, political campaigns, and grassroots organizers the tech needed to create a more democratic world.
Explore upcoming events, RSVP in seconds, and help build the people‑powered momentum Arizona needs.
Desert Democracy is part of a broader ecosystem of organizers, volunteers, and community‑builders working every day to strengthen civic engagement across Arizona. One of our key partners, Fifty Fifty One Arizona, maintains a dynamic, easy‑to‑navigate events calendar that highlights opportunities happening statewide.
Their calendar features a wide range of ways to plug in — from voter outreach and community conversations to trainings, volunteer shifts, and local gatherings. It’s updated frequently and offers a clear snapshot of what’s happening across the movement on any given week.
If you’re looking to get involved beyond our own Desert Democracy programming, this is an excellent place to start. Explore upcoming events, find actions that match your interests, and connect with others who are building people‑powered change across Arizona.
We’re thrilled to have a new home for sharing research, resources, and stories that strengthen our community and our democracy.
Here’s what you can expect here:
• Clear voter education tools to help you and your neighbors stay informed
• Research-driven insights that make complex issues accessible and actionable
• Fact-based resources designed to reduce disinformation and build trust in civic participation
• Stories and reflections that remind us why engagement matters
Our mission is simple: make democracy accessible, inclusive, and resilient. Whether you’re here to stay up-to-date, dive into research, or share reliable resources with others, you’re part of something bigger — a movement rooted in clarity, connection, and truth.
A grassroots, bottom-up, and local effort to show our neighbors and passersby they are not the only ones furious, embarrassed, worried, and/or fed up!
Community is our strength—and connection fuels our resistance!
Come join us for coffee, tea, good food, and even better conversation as we build relationships and stand together.
Every dollar fuels action. Your contribution helps strengthen grassroots advocacy, support initiatives, and amplify voices who drive meaningful change. With your financial support, we can expand outreach, fund critical programs, and empower individuals fighting for a more just and equitable future. Be a change maker!
